Ysbyty Gwynedd, run by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, provides a comprehensive range of health, social and primary care services to a large population of North West Wales.
Hygiene is of great importance for the patients and visitors entering the hospital which is why changing to a SmartOne dispenser was a simple decision. June Davies, Head of Hotel Services at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board expressed her opinion of the dispensers, “SmartOne is brilliant. We are so pleased with its success that we’ve rolled it out across all nine of our community sites and will never switch back to folded toilet tissue.” After seeing the product at an Infection Prevention conference, the design, organic shape, the fact it was easy to clean and an extremely hygienic product were just some of the factors that made June want to have the dispensers installed at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
Before making the change, the hospital used folded toilet tissue dispensers which hands could reach inside causing a risk of cross contamination. As SmartOne is a sealed unit, the risk of cross contamination is greatly reduced.
Previously, there was a tendency to squash as many sheets as possible in the dispensers which meant users pulled clumps of sheets rather than one at a time, resulting in unwanted paper being dropped on the floor and toilets getting blocked. With SmartOne, the washrooms in the hospitals are now a lot tidier as you only take the amount of tissue you need rather than unnecessary clumps. In addition, the toilet roll now lasts longer, which has reduced waste and provided cost savings for the hospital with dispensers needing replenishing less frequently.
SmartOne offers a cost effective, hygienic and reliable solution in both single and twin dispenser form to suit your washroom needs.
